You view here is imbalanced. Diminishing a husband's competence is hurtful and mean. It undermines his role as a father. It supports the stereotype that men don't care about parenthood to say that it's giving him a free pass. And it overlooks the cruelty of the joke. Can you broaden your perspective a bit?
