Yep, that was me. My parents were very religious and anti-gay and racist. (They were also very sweet, misguided as they were). Seriously, you would have thought it was in the Ten Commandments: Thou shalt not be gay. There was all sorts of values in the Bible that taught honesty, humility, love and compassion. For the most part, they followed all of those teachings. Unless you were gay, which meant you were going to Hell and that was that.
