When men use other methods beyond firearms, their success rate is constant. While I like most of your article, this part is a bit insensitive. It's more likely that while men attempt suicide less often, when they do they are more committed to ending their lives. I personally do not own a gun and I don't have a strong opinion on gun rights. Regardless, I don't think removing guns from the hands of men will help prevent male suicide. Men who want to commit suicide will find an equally effective means of doing it. Can we just admit that it's a problem and stop finding ways to dismiss it?
