Well, I certainly respect that you were able to admit your part in all of that. Generally speaking, it's easy to claim innocence in those situations, but I guess you can't fool yourself, right? It may have made no difference. You could have been clear about not having any feelings for him, and he may still have lashed out at you. Regardless, you conscience would have been clear.
