To a point. It depends on the profession. If you are engaged in project work, it's disruptive to the team when you leave. Also, if you leave before a project is completed, then it will be difficult for you to demonstrate that your work contributed to a successful outcome. I don't advocate for being committed to a company unless you have an owner's stake. I do believe that you should be committed to a body of work that demonstrates your success as an individual.
