This goes both ways. The prevailing Feminist narrative places men as oppressors and women as victims. It's really hard to align myself with a group that labels me as an oppressor. Many feminists are dismissive about men's issues:
1. Men have all the rights
2. Why do women need to fix men's issues. Do we have to do everything for them?
3. It's caused by that patriarchy.
4. It's because of the toxic masculinity. If they weren't toxic, they wouldn't suffer.
You wrote an article, that sounds like it's justifying the gap in sentencing. The gap in sentencing is an injustice: pure and simple. There is no fair justification for it.
I'm not blaming women for men's issue. I'm not going to blame men for men's issue. It's an issue for society. I'm not blaming Feminism for men's issues. I'm blaming Feminists for being dismissive about men's issues (same as MRAs are about women's issues). When most feminists blame men's issues on the patriarchy, the patriarchy is really a euphemism for men in general. Feminists are really washing their hands of all of it (not my problem!). That exactly what you just did.
It would be nice if Feminists just acknowledge that a gap in sentencing is an issue that should be addressed. That's it? Is that so freaking hard? No, instead we get these articles that seek justify it.
