…o me not this over the top idea of what men think is romantic or what men think every women wants.

But when it comes to making men feel special, I’m a woman who enjoys buying gifts, remembering little facts, and going the extra mile for someone I like and want to get to know. I’m not saying that it’s just men who need to improve, but I feel like men are supposed to set the tone especially if they are pursuing the woman.

There is nothing wrong with having standards, especially when you're willing to bring your heart and soul into a relationship.
It sounds like you have standards and you are willing to contribute comparably to a relationship in exchange. That's reasonable. I hope you find someone who makes you happy. You deserve it.
