Splitting hairs, I know. He didn't cross the state lines with a loaded automatic weapon. That would mean he had to have been in possession of said weapon in Illinois, which is illegal. He obtained the weapon in Wisconsin where it was legal.

I think the fact that he crossed state lines is overstating the practical reality. He drove 20 miles to a city that he works in.

That's it. I'm not arguing with your entire post, just those two things.

I understand what you are saying and I've read it in a dozen other articles. You believe showing up with a gun to a volatile situation was provocative enough to disqualify claims of self-defense. I agree that it was unwise and not really justified for a 17 year old who had no private property to protect. I can see why this leads many to believe that Kyle was unjustified in shooting Rosembaum.

However, I saw the video and I honestly believe that Rosenbaum had murderous intent and if Kyle hadn't shot him that Kyle would be dead. In this case, it's hard for me to believe that Kyle is guilty of murder. Possibly guilty of something else.
