Sometimes it is a competition! For example, in the U.S., if you are an man who suffers from Domestic Violence you will be hard pressed to find shelter for you and your children if you are fleeing abuse. This is because Domestic Violence has been represented over and over in society as a gendered issue and most of the resources (tax money) are allocated to shelters that only accept women.

When we describe issues and gendered issues it implicitly erases the experiences of the other gender.

Feminism seeks to achieve gender equality, through the advocacy of women's rights. While some feminists may genuinely care about men's issues, Feminism does not. If men are suffering for injustice or inequality, Feminism will not address it. That why men need their own advocacy.

One of the problem's with some of the types of Feminism is Patriarchy Theory which is based on the OOGD (Oppressor/Oppressed Gender Dichotomy). This is often used by Feminists to dismiss or malign attempts by men to talk about issues that affect them. "Men have all the rights" "Most of the CEO and powerful political positions are occupied by men, why do they need any help" are the typical response from Feminists to anyone who attempts to talk about issues that affect men.
