So misogyny is immoral/unethical and misandry is justified/righteous? Such a dichotomy makes it easy to discuss social/cultural injustice towards women, but makes it nearly impossible to discuss social/cultural injustice towards men. To me, it suggests that social/cultural injustices toward men are mythical. To be more precise, there is no word to describe a mentality that keeps men in their lane. "Be real man", "Men don't cry", "Men just want sex", "Men can't parent", "Men don't need time off." these are examples of a patriarchal belief system that harms men. Instead, we only use misandry as a definition of righteous opposition to misogyny. I would like to propose the definition of misandry as an attempt to keep men in their lane and to deny the existence of their suffering in the Patriarchy. This would be a more symmetrical dichotomy.
