So, if you fall short of being a 'real' man, what are you? A fake one? How come we never talk about what it means to be a 'real' woman? How come women just get to be women because they grew from girlhood into womanhood. Men have to earn their gender. Seems pretty eff'd up to me. At 50, if I fall short of whatever qualifications society deems a 'real' man, the I go back to being a boy, no? Or am I not a boy, not a man. A subhuman? Why do we treat men this way?
