Probably just racist. My dad was racist too. Not an angry white man with a swastika on his chest. He was a very kind man who just held on to the social norms of his time. He said kind things. He said wise things. He also often said very racist things. Not out of hate, but out of ignorance. I honestly don't think he hated anyone. Like Prince Philip, he's gone now. I will remember him fondly despite his racism. Maybe we can do the same thing with Prince Philip.
