Ok, then it makes sense for women to only seek men who make more money in those places. In the U.S., childless single men and women make the same amount of money, yet women still expect men to make more money. When you say that women deserve men that make more than them in this scenario, you are not advocating for equality.

What you are saying plays back into the same ole gender roles that feminists say they want to break. It comes down to this: if men are required to make more money, then society needs to pay them more. I don't think that's the answer.

The truth is that couples need to share the responsibility of providing and child rearing. If a woman is going to lose income because of motherhood, the couple needs to plan for that. It shouldn't be up to the man alone to work harder to make up the difference.

What you are suggesting is that men should still be held to the provider role, which is patriarchal.
