“Men are afraid that women will laugh at them. Women are afraid that men will kill them.”

― Margaret Atwood

What is the purpose of citing this quote in this context? Are we justifying misandry? I personally don't know anyone who has killed anyone, much less a man who has killed a woman. I wonder why?

If 51,100 women and girls where killed by an intimate partner or family member in 2023, and there are 8 billion people on the planet, the chance that I would know one of the perpetrators is very, very low (like less than a 1%). That doesn’t even take into account that I would know that they were a murderer. I have no control over how often women get murdered by an intimate partner or family member, as with most men. However, women justified in hating me, just because I'm a man? That’s bigotry.

As far as the use of the phrase "grow a pair", that is phrase is typically used in order to pressure men in to performing masculinity...the very thing that feminists are supposed to be against. I find it interesting that you’re using this phrase. You’ve decided what you think masculinity should be and you’re going to inflict upon the rest of us men. If you want to tackle femicide as an issue, that’s great. You do you. If you think you can use “grow a pair” to shame men, generally, into action…that just won’t work.
