I've been married for 18 years and I have no control over my wife. Control is always an illusion. Early on I stopped trying to tell her what to do. Why? It doesn't work. I can only share my wants, needs and desires with her. We have to agree on things. I have seldom felt jealousy with regards to my wife, because she has given me little reason to. I believe that if you're a selfish controlling douchebag, you're gonna suck as a partner regardless if you are polyamorous or monogamous.

Just to be clear, Monogamy is the state you choose to be in. Nobody makes you do it. Being faithful is simply doing what you said you would do when you committed to be in a monogamous. That is integrity.
