It's not necessarily desertion if the child isn't born yet. I maintain that if a woman has the ability to avoid parenthood within a given period of time before birth, so should a man. If a man does not agree to the responsibility of parenthood, the woman still has a choice to go it alone, get an abortion or put the child up for adoption. I believe the man should be equally responsible for the pregnancy, the abortion or the adoption, regardless of what her choice is.
