Is this based on some research. This seems a bit sexist to me: “Women cheat because they’re unfulfilled. Men cheat because they’re pigs.”
Women and men both who cheat do so for a variety of reasons. I look at the responses to this post and they’re full of stereotyping and rationalization…etc. Deception and betrayal are just that. You can try to justify it, but it’s only a justification.
I’m not necessarily judging, I get it. Leaving a long-term relationship is hard, even when you are unhappy. It’s even harder to leave a relationship honestly, with an empty bed. It seems easier to sabotage it and blame your partner for not meeting your needs. The former is the ethical way to do it, regardless of your gender. And I think you’re more likely to grow from it and enter into healthier relationships in the future.
