Is that the lesson? Why would they want to show emotion? Why do women show emotion? Is it because they are taught that their feelings matter? Is it possible that boys don't have empathy because they don't receive any?

You should have been taught that you deserve compassion and empathy, and it's ok to seek it when you are troubled.
