Is it a "with great power comes great responsibility" thing? Influence and manipulation seem like very similar words to me. Influence has a positive connotation, while manipulation has a negative one. I think, like everything else, it all depends on your intentions. If you bat your eyes and use your femininity to help influence your man to do something that's generally good for the universe, that's cool. Especially if it's a decision that he will appreciate later. If you're using manipulation to constantly get your way at his expense, that's something completely different.
