In my opinion, the "thugs" in the Peaky Blinders show treated their women with respect (except for Lizzie), relative to the times. It was patriarchal for sure, but the women were invited to all of the family meetings and voted on major decisions. Polly and Ada were treated as almost equals. The only time Tommy cheated on anyone was on Lizzie with Mosley's wife, Diana, and he didn't do it out of desire. He was running out of time due to his terminal condition and he had to get a deal done. To be fair, she was using her position of power to get sex, not him.

These men were aggressive and violent, but not to their women, in my opinion.
