I'm going to assume when you say 'cheap' you mean selfish. That is, someone who has the capability of paying for dates but won't or purposely cuts corners in ways that make the date awful. These men are doing this because they are not generous (selfish). Is that correct? Selfishness is not an attractive quality. In that case, I would agree with you.

I don't know how old you are, however, I would like to point out the young men (in their early to mid 20's) are usually poor. I think it's rather insensitive to shame people (men or women) for being poor.
