I think this article is well intended, but misguided. Most of these statements describe the struggle I have with my own character defects that continues through my entire life. The suggestion is that, once I grow up that I will naturally just start doing the right thing, and that the struggle ends. It doesn't. I'm over 50 years old and I'm still struggling with selfishness and insecurity. So does everyone I know, women included. I think the whole : Be a man! rally cry does more harm then good. "Being a man" trope is so subjective and means different things to different people. Some good, some bad. We should just state what we think a good person is, and leave the "Be a man!" phrase behind us.
