I think body count is used as a measure for something else: honesty and loyalty. I think it's a poor measure. For me, it's never an issue if a woman was unattached and was having safe, responsible sex with multiple partners. It's an issue if a woman is having sex with multiple partners and

1. Wasn't honest about it. Never let the partners she was sleeping with know that she wasn't exclusive.

2. Wasn't responsible about it. If you're sleeping around, man or woman, a condom should be used. Birth control is not enough.

Finally, I don't think honesty and loyalty are traits that apply to women alone. If a man is sleeping around with multiple partners, he should be honest and responsible about it.
