I see it from a completely different angle. Women primarily choose an abortion in order to avoid parenthood. The body autonomy thing only helps support this. The purpose is not necessarily to avoid pregancy. The idea is: consent to sex is not consent to parenthood. I support this, however men do not have the same freedom. We have to respect what ever decision she makes, even though it will affect us for the rest of our lives. We're supposed to be grateful if she chooses what we want.

Mothers don't even have to notify the father before birth. She can notify him at anytime and demand child support. Sometimes he will owe child support retroactively. It doesn't matter if he's since married and had other children. She can decide to put the child up for adoption without notifying the father.

At least requiring pregnant women to notify fathers of the pregnancy would go a long way towards involving men in abortion rights. Allowing men 'Financial Abortion' capabilities would mean we would be fully invested in abortion rights. Not holding my breath on that one. I am pro-choice, but I'm not passionate about it.
