I just don't understand what is achieved by pointing this out. Does it make it more acceptable if you're experiencing violence from the same gender? "Wow, that really hurt. I'm very afraid. Thank God it came from a man and not a woman." Or are we saying that we are some how complicit in our own abuse because we share the same gender?
