I agree. Human beings can live without a romantic connection, however invalidating and disappointing that may be. Most human beings cannot abide no connection at all.

Is it possible that more women self-report being lonely because they feel comfortable doing so? I think there is more stigma around a lonely male (creepy?) than a lonely female.
