I agree about just giving away free stuff. However, I don’t think it usually happens this way. It’s pretty common for a young woman to befriend a man that she is not romantically interested in him. Somewhere along the way she might manipulate him into doing favors for her with the behavior that suggests that she has a romantic interest. She’s done it before and it works. These kind of guys are easy prey. He should know better, she’s out of his league.

Once the favor is done she reverts back to the friend-zone and he’s left scratching his head. Yes, yes, he is a chump for allowing himself to be manipulated. However, she’s the predator here, not him.
