First of all, this following criticism is focused on the highlighted phrase, not the entire article. I do believe that the use of Karen is sexist. However, the proportion of white men in the boardroom to white men in the general population is likely very, very low. Any white woman can ask to speak to your manager. The two are not the same. White men are often characterized as those that in power, like we're all fat cats and we're calling the shots. It's a mischaracterization. There is likely a counter part to the white woman speaking to the manager, but passing policy in a boardroom isn't it. It's more likely around hiring.
