Feminism isn't about man-hate. Still, the amount of man-hate-y content in social media, particularly in feminist spaces, is pretty damned pervasive. It's not called out or opposed by other feminists in those spaces. In fact, it's upvoted. I just read a post on r/AskFeminists where they were discussing why women continue to date men when men are their oppressors. One of them responded, "Yeah, it sucks being sexually attracted to your only natural predator." -- to upvotes and confirming responses. Maybe that's just humor, but in the context of the question it comes off as man-hatey. And it's sooo common.
I'm pretty certain the claim of 'man-hate' is amplified in conservative, misogynist spaces. However, beyond writing article after article claiming that Feminism isn't about man-hate, feminists don't work very hard at dispelling that impression. In fact, they justify it as "venting" or "punching up". Feminists often describe misandry as either a myth, harmless or justified. Feminists rarely criticize it.
