Don't put words in my mouth either. What I do want is for Medium authors to stop spreading the false narrative that women are the primary victims of violent crime.

Here is an example of an article from woman that suggests that women are more likely to be attacked than men.

It is totally fair to respond to this article as it is perpetuating a false narrative. I didn't in this article because another man beat me to it. However, I felt his complaint was fair. The statement, Violence towards women is an epidemic, itself is dismissive because it implies (to me) that women experience violence more than men. Otherwise someone would simply say, "Violence is an epidemic". You have personally used this statement.
