When we're talking about software that has a male bias from a user experience, that's not engineering...necessarily. It's product management. Now I wouldn't say that it's 50/50 in product management either. However, in my experience, there are more women in product management than there are in software engineering. Regardless, if you want software to cater to women, you need women in product management, not engineering, although having more women engineers won't hurt.
