I've read your posts and you seem like a reasonable and sympathetic person. That's why the title bothers you. You recognize that 'I hate ****' title is going to to upsetting for whoever '****' is. It's also likely that '****' is not likely to be responsive to whatever follows 'I hate ****'. It's encouraging to see a feminist post an acknowledgement how provocative the title is. I'm sure that the book spends quite a bit of time explaining the title. I think that is the point: provoke attention to the title, which gives the author an opportunity to share her viewpoint. Unfortunately, it's likely to only provoke the right kind of attention from those who are already in agreement with its tenants.
