An unmarried woman can also have a child and decide not to tell the father. This means:

1. The child can grow up without ever knowing his/her father.

2. The child can grow up and using genetic science locate his/her father. "Hi Dad, sorry you missed out on me growing up. Nevertheless, you're my Dad."

3. The mother could decide anytime between birth and legal adulthood of the child that she needs help and force the father to pay child support.

4. The mother could give the child up for adoption and the father. Unless paternity has been established, the father would have no say in the matter.

If you are a married man and your wife gets pregnant from another man, you are responsible for that child. If you want to get a divorce and not be responsible for the child, you have to establish the paternity of the child biological father before you divorce her.

Men simply do not have nearly the same reproductive rights as women.
